After my workshop with Art Toolkit in February as part of their Winter Workshop Series, my sweet parents gave me an Art Toolkit gift certificate for my birthday. I had a wonderful time picking out some useful tools, along with a selection of new watercolor pigments to try. I generally stick to a pretty limited palette of standby colors, so it was fun to put together a pocket palette of new-to-me colors and then test them out on the miniature lupine (Lupinus bicolor) above. I picked some strongly granulating colors and a couple of blues I have yet to experiment with. For the curious, here is the list of my new colors: Carmine, Potter’s Pink, Monte Amiata Natural Sienna, Lunar Earth, French Ultramarine, Manganese Blue, and Fuchsite. I also put in two colors I use a lot for comparison: Cobalt Teal Blue and Ultramarine.
It has been a great pleasure to work with Art Toolkit over the last year. Here is a link to view my live demo last April hosted by Art Toolkit founder Maria Coryell-Martin.
I am excited to share with you a discount code from Art Toolkit! You can use the code ROBIN10 at checkout to receive 10% off Art Toolkit Products. I receive a small commission on sales made using the code.
Art Toolkit makes the most thoughtfully designed tools for field sketching that I have yet encountered, and most importantly, they are designed by an artist for artists. I’ve been using Art Toolkit supplies for years now as constant field companions, but even when I’m not in the field, I just about always have either the Pocket Art Toolkit or the A5 Art Toolkit on me.
