This school year, I have had the great pleasure of teaching art and natural history in my son’s fifth grade class. Their science focus this year is botany, so the topics have all either focused on botany or tied plants to the other organisms interconnected in their ecosystems.
One of our projects has been a detailed study of a mushroom found in California, and I turned the students’ gorgeous final mushroom watercolors into an 18” x 24” poster that we are selling to raise funds for their school in its annual auction. I am so impressed by the work they have been doing in both art and ecology!
